 Statement:

                   Many feel some sort of sadness seeing homeless person on the streets and in my perspective I further question what is their story and how did they arrive at this situation. Each person must have a story and even though the outcome may be sad , the lives they live are still important as any life should be and rather than finding models to strike a random pose , I chose these homeless persons/ street dwellers to be my models and  and focus of portrayal . 

                  This Installation was an investigation and portrayal of a group of homeless individuals  residing on the streets of Port of Spain, Trinidad. These persons were specifically found by simply walking through Henry, Charlotte and Fredrick street. When encountered the titled street dwellers were partially interviewed and photographed with their permission.. The interview simply revealed their names, where they stayed/slept and if possible a short story of their past. 

                    

                    By this investigation, each street dweller was given a token of food or clothing and  asked , 

" Would you like to be like to be part of my art project ? " With the permission of a selected few ,they were sketched and sculpted into the installations seen above. Primary armature was made of PVC piping but more importantly  a series of specifically  attached objects  were added to each portrayal based on the individuals physical or mental characteristics. They were also depicted based on qualities such as their posture, overall interaction and possible ideas brought forward during their interview.

When installed they were placed in a series of different  locations and postures  at the DCFA Courtyard that represented  their  day to day  and night living on the streets of Port Of Spain.
